Stained glass, a Havana tradition of light and color, awaits you in this activity. Havana has always been characterized by the use of the Antique Stained Glass Vitral in its architecture as a symbol of beauty and art in Cuban homes and today it is a matter of maintaining that legacy. Would you like to discover the beauty of these polychrome stained glass windows in the buildings of Havana? A young graduate of cultural heritage management invites you to enter this wonderful and colorful world. She will take you on a tour of the city to discover the stained glass in the historic center of Old Havana. You will learn the history of this art since the colonial times to today. She will also show you how the styles and materials have been changed over the years and the challenges facing this form of art in the current Cuba climate. You will see samples in various different formats and techniques during the tour of such places as the Havana perfumery 1791. To finalize the activity, you can visit Vitria, a cooperative dedicated to design, creation and restoration of stained glass. There you will learn how the stained glass is made through a physical demonstration.
